It's not about getting a scholarship, getting drafted, or making SportsCenter. It's a deep need in me that comes from the heart. I need to practice, to play, to lift, to hustle, to sweat. I do it all for my teammates and for the student in my calculus class that I don't even know. It's a bigger part of me than my friends and family can understand. Sometimes I play for 200 fans; sometimes 20, but I still play hard. You cheer for me because you know me. You know more than just my name. It's about pride in myself, in my school. It's about my love and passion for the game. And when it's over, when I walk off the field for the last time, My heart will crumble. Those tears are real. But deep inside, I am very proud of myself. I will be forever what few can claim...a college athlete.
