Me: Well, I never managed to finish up with the whole "degree" thing. I did, however, get around to teaching myself everything and anything I would need to know about computers. Guess it turned out to be a good thing in the end. Degree thing, Certification Thing; what's the difference? ;)
Family: Married my beautiful Wife, Maryanne on Nov. 27, 1999. Maryanne gave me my pride and joy, Son, Tyler Morgan on May 25, 2000. Maryanne again blessed our family with another addition on Aug. 2, 2003, Madison Ann. In Feb. of 2001, we moved in to our newly built home in Davenport, FL just outside Haines City. After 4 years in Davenport, I packed up the crew and relocated to Columbia, SC (mainly due to the OUTRAGEOUS Florida real estate market and the pending outsourcing agreement at Disney).
Career: After working off and on for Disney for 6 years as a Quick Service Cashier / GT I became bored. Very bored. So, I set out to learn a thing or two about Computer Systems Support and Network Administration. I soon picked up a job with a Berber Carpet Manufacturer (Swanson Carpet, Inc., Orlando, FL) and worked my way though the ranks of the office personnel to Claims Administrator. From there I was offered a position in the same capacity with a competing company. After having a falling out with the Manager of that company (Pro Source Flooring, Inc., Orlando, FL) and for the next 3 months I searched frantically for a new job and finally hit it big with a small computer dist. company based out of Sanford, FL. ted out as an Admin. for their E-commerce Dept. and soon found myself accepting a position as Network Administrator for the entire company. This was due to the unexpected departure of the previous Network Admin. and the inability of anyone else in the building to do the job. Ha! Although I wasn't as skilled as I should have been, I performed my duties to the best of my ability for nearly 3 years. It was obvious to me at some point that I was going no further with ACD, Inc. and needed a change. At this point I contacted an old Disney Coworker of mine and asked if he could get me an interview with someone in IT or IT Support. He agreed and set me up with a Contract Co. and representative who got me an interview with the Manager of the IT Support Center at Celebration. At this time (2000), the Support Center was staffed entirely by 3rd party employees. I was offered the job the morning of the interview and immediately accepted. In Oct. of 2002 we were rolled to Disney and remained Cast Members until June of 2005. In Feb. of 2004 I accepted a position as Support Center Coordinator and continued to work in that capacity until June of 2005 when I resigned and relocated.
I am now employed at CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation) as a Systems Engineer. My primary role is to support and administer our IBM i5 Series AS400 Host Systems, WebSphere Application Servers, and various WebServers. I also provide on-site customer support and administration services. All in all I cannot complain at this time. Lots of traveling and a great long-term opportunity. Couldn't ask for much more at this point in my life!
