Sean's Story

Life Well I grew up as a kid that did not play with toys, but tools etc. Was not your normal kid, just shy and quiet, which I was like that all the way through school. Mom got divorced when I was a toddler, and my dad Roger Lundgren died back in 1984 due to liver problems from drinking, so now you know why I do not smoke and drink, because that is what he did, but not as much as you would think. Grew up without a dad, pretty much living with my grandparents through highschool, because my mom was a nurse at Stormont Vail, and St Francis all those years working at night, so I just stayed at my grandparents. My mom was overprotective which ruined many potential relationships during high school and after. In school and after highschool I had a set curfew, which most kids I saw never had, so that really did not help in the love department, and that was my main focus. Yeah, I guess you could say I knew what I wanted already in life. So after highschool I met Angela C., from Shawnee Heights, and thought this would go places, well it only lasted a few months then faded away. Was torn over her for months. Was very good potential. So Monica T. stopped by one day, and we ended up going out to a movie eventually, but I think I had mixed feelings if she would want a relationship with me, so I was too bashful to bring up my feelings to her, so that fizzled out quickly. I worked at McElroys in 1994 as a delivery person, giving me time in the evenings to hopefully get my life in order. Well, I had been friends, with three girls I playing volleyball with, who I met through by best friends older brother Dustin Frost. So after knowing them for some time, there was one time two of them and me were going to go out to a movie, and long story short by the end of the night Darci A., one of the 2 girls, and I were a thing, and I could not sleep. I was truly in love and could not get enough of her, and she said she loved me which made it even better. Well after a few months it ended mainly because she was 4 years older, and I just was not showing her how grown up I was. Kinda hard to keep someone if you still live at home I found out, though that was not the only reason. Cried over her for weeks. That really hurt me tremendously, and got me depressed to say the least. Never in my life had my heart been involved into someone, and was too afraid to tell her my real feelings about her, fearing she would run away like the rest. But in a way was a great thing, because I had a big change in how I looked at life hoping for a second chance to see my change in life. We never got back together, yet we were friends again, months later, She moved to Texas in 96' for a job, and I thought my life was totally over at that point. What could have been, and I fouled it up I had said. I found a great job, which I am still at to this day, plan not to leave til retirement. After many sputtered dates out there I met my wife Therese at an install at her mom's house. I was wowed, can this finally go somewhere I hoped? She asked me out, and we dated for 4 months then took a 5 month breather. She was a clubber, and I was not into party type situations, then she gave me a call one day, and I was reluctant to see her, but it was the best decision I ever made. All I ever wanted in life was to have someone to spend the rest of my life with, and got a darn gorgeous one. She had made me more outspoken, not as shy anymore. She graduated from Washburn Rural in 1993. She works part time at Frito Lay, and stays home during the week doing daycare. She only watches 2 kids right now. She really can't wait to go back to work full time. Kids really have us stressed at times, not being able to do the things we used to do, but that is all part of the game. Been happily married for almost 10 years now!!!! I am lucky to have such great children to keep us going, and are everything to me! School Well, I was a go getter, just to do what I had to do, but my main focus at Knollwood, was just to find a girl there I could get with as a girlfriend, and have a great experience. Well for me being shy and quiet, that was hard to do. I remember the years being there I was interested in Rhonda B., just could not get over her, but ended up giving up on her. Then I was into Roni K., but never went far to try for her. I saw her a few years ago at McB's Bar & Grill North as a waitress. I did not recognize her, but she recognized me. I was surprized! Let's see then Gloria K. was cute, but she was ready to graduate, and I was obviously not in her league, so I never went far with that. Then it was Monica T., who I really connected with at the time. Never went on a date, no car, so that ended, but I always thought of her still. She came by my place a few times after high school to visit. Even went on a date once we were out of high school but the way I still was, too shy to really come out, and open up to her. Ended up not going anywhere with that. J...Expand for more
ust saw her back in 2000 at Rosa's during lunch one day. Just before Knollwood got out in May of 1993 I was only going in for half a day, and was interested in Erin M., which was not the first believe it or not, but I was just short of actually asking her on a date at Chick fil A, mispelled? Years later I saw her in the Topeka Capital Journal in the Weddings, and boy that was the most beautiful look I ever saw in her. Very beautiful to say the least. I have seen and talked to Christy M. in the past years at the Credit Union window I went to. Heard a few years ago that Paul Baxter died due to some illness, and never heard more about it. My wife somehow worked with his mother I believe. Do you all remember Matt Siemens? Well I saw him in public a while back, and he looks, well different. I would not leave my kids loose, lets put it that way. I guess he was known for that in school anyways. I had read in one of my monthly Credit Union letters, that Eric Day was working there, but do not know if he is still in Topeka or not. Saw Mr&Mrs Fuller a few years back at Tractor Supply. I did all I could to get rung up and out of there before they saw me. I felt like I was going to be scolded for something if they saw me! I saw Marcus Brewers parents at Lewis Furniture one night while we was shopping. Have not heard how he has been doing since. The only other thing I have noticed lately is that Jeremiah Metsinger is now the pastor for the church. That really made me feel old after seeing that on the sign. I do wish I could have experienced what a prom was like with my class and all. I see what the school was trying to do to shelter us, but looking back knowing how I acted myself, there would have been no issues. Yearbook pictures get washed away in the 1993 flood. No reunions to speak of, which is kinda sad, becuase after going to my wifes, I realized what all I did miss in a bigger environment. Let's just say college was a big wake up call after leaving a school of what, 40 some kids K-12th? For now, that is all I have to say about Knollwood. College Went to Washburn part time for the 1993-1994 school year. I realized that my interests did not go with what they could prepare me for, so I did not go back after that year. Did like looking at the girls there though. Workplace I started out working at Fox Whitelakes Theaters in 1993. Started as a concession person, then moving up to projectionist, which I loved until I left maybe in 1995. I quit due to needing more time for myself. At that time I was working at McElrorys in the plumbing delivery department from like 1994-1995. Again that job was not going to do things for me down the road as I had hoped. At that time I became a very focused, serious person. I was very goal oriented, so I could prove to anyone I would do whatever it takes to make the most out of myself. So in late 1995 I started working for TCI cable, which was different to me. Was not sure if I would like it or not. Not sure if she started before or after I did, but I came to find that Darci, was working there part time at night, so that was extremely hard to face, until she quit some time later. I was installing, and learning all I could to hopefully advance to something better, and of course name eventually switched to Multimedia Cable, and again to Cox Commuications, to which now I work on mainline issues daily. No bosses around you during the day wherever your at. The bosses we have are the best anyways. I never thought I would find a job that I would not have to worry if I would have a job the next day or not. I love and take my job very seriously, and have been known to probably care too much. It's all I know. I have been very blessed to say the least. If it was not for Darci breaking my heart back in 1995, I am not sure if I would have this job or not, and all the things I have got because of it. Definitely would not have my wife and kids because of it, because I met my wife at one of my installs back in 1997. We were not to ask people out on the job, but she actually took the dare and asked me out! Of course I said yes, and the rest is history. Before Therese, I had been hit on by a few women in the office, but never dared to try anything. Have had my run ins with customers bad and good, and especially girls wanting your number etc. Is it strange for someone who had no luck in girls at one time, now get hit on every once in a while?? Have been fortunate to work out of town in Manhattan, Junction City, McPherson, Wichita, Park City, Ottawa, and Garnett. I am a go getter. I work as much as I can, because I have goals in life, and getting a second job is out of the question, because I have to be ready to be free 24/7 in case an emergency arises. Have a new beautiful girl named Keegan. She came July 5th. She was a preemie. Now she is crawling around on the floor, and sitting up by herself, and sleeps all night! Best of all, we are DONE having kids.
