Shane's Story
Life, at times, sucks.
I graduated from SVHS, and Elisted in the US Armed Forces: Several Duty Stations: Orlando, FL, Mayport, FL; Groton / New London, CT; Idaho Falls, ID; Pearl Harbor, HI. Served onboard the USS Forrestal, CV-59 (Go and Google her, lots of entertainment while I was onboard). SS Trout; SSN 696 The New York City (She's Razor Blades now... Thank gawd!) Wounded while I was in the Service.
Got out. Took my GI Benefits, and Bought a house, got a Degree in Computer Science, and then worked at a Nuclear Power Plant, as a Senior Instrumentatation and Repair Technician.
Then offered a job, as an Engineer, so took it. Worked my way up to a Masters Level in Applied Nuclear Physics.
Then the Brain Fart set in... I decided I really wanted to be a Doctor...
I was the oldest student in Medical School at the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine (Ranked #4 in the Nation at that time) in Albuquerque, NM. Graduated (WOOHOO). I am currently with The Veterans Administration, have set up a Psychiatric Care Clinic for the Vets: WW II, Korea, Vietnam, Somalia, Bosnia, Persian Gulf War, and now OEF = Afghanistan, and OIF = Iraq. Where I am treating Gulf War Syndrome, Depleted Uranium Syndrom, and God Awful PTSD... All here in lovely: At least lovely for This time of year, the late Fall, Winter, and Early Spring, downtown Yuma, AZ.
I was inducted into the Cambridge Who's Who, as well as receiving their Top Recognition, as Professional of the Year in Psychiatry 2008(cambridgewhoswho.com).
I was also Inducted into the Strathmore Who's Who, and then was Nominated and received their Professional of the year, as Psychiatrist of the Year 2008 in Veterans Affairs

As well as just recently, been inducted into American Professional...
So, maybe
Miss. Reeves, Mr. Heiner,
Mr. Jensen, all encouraged me in the acquiring of knowledge, paid off...
And being a nerd / dweeb / dork / pencil neck ... paid off
ps: I am now officially recognized as injured while in the line of duty serving in the Armed Forces of the US Military.
