Shannon's Story
Life
Well, I moved south a little over 8 years ago. I lived in North Augusta, SC, for about 6 months and then moved over to Augusta, GA. About that same time, I met Jarrod, my now ex-husband. We got engaged April of 2001, but didn't actually get married until May of 2003. We had our daughter, Kaylen Hunter, October 2, 2002. Our son, Gabriel Paul was born on October 26, 2004. I started back to work full-time back in May 2005 as an agent assistant with Meybohm Realtors in Evans, GA. I tried the real estate thing for a while and it's just really not for me.
Jarrod and I split up in 2006 and I started moving on with my life. I started playing music more at home and writing a whole bunch more. November of 2...Expand for more
006, a friend of mine here in GA "bullied" me into my first open mic night. I haven't been able to put it down since. I play solo mostly, but i have a band called The Transcendence Experiment. I have been hosting Open Mic Night here in Augusta at the Renaissance Pub on Tuesdays since December and am currently working on my debut CD ad playing in GA and SC and am playing NJ and NY in June 2007. I was recently featured in The Augusta Chronicle's Applause that comes out weekly as their Sonic Spotlight Featured Artist with a full-page article and a live video of one of my songs on their website.
As I like to put it...
I'm a musician...I'm my dream...I've never been more broke...but I've never been happier!
