Shannon's Story
Life
Let's see, my home life consists of my husband Jason of almost 14 years, my son, Deven (8) and step-daughter, Cortney(19). What an age difference???? It's sometimes tough keeping them both happy, but I think we manage quite well.
We have a full-bred boxer named KC and a cat named Charlie we keep around the barns and house to keep the mice away.
College
Well, I took the role of being a part-time student and a full-time employee right out of high school with the intentions of going off to college after a year. What can I say, life happened and I finally graduated in May of 2006.... I took time off to get married, when classes got in the way of Cortney being in sports, and when I had my son.....

Workplace
I started my work career at the Carmel-based insurance company, Conseco, Inc and was there for almost 8 years. As most of you know, Conseco made a turn for the worse and I was able to get out of there in late '99 to take another postiion in payroll at Orthopaedics Indianapolis. I left there in May of '06 as there was no room for advancement to take a short-lived Assistant Controller position at a trucking company (9 months). I am finding that I have made the perfect move to a finance/lending company as the Accounting Manager in Avon, IN. We handle millions of dollars on a daily basis that relate to the recreational/boating industry. I would have never dreamed that this industry is a multi-million dollar business.
