Shari's Story
Life
Hi! I'm too busy writing, to write about myself. I live at Cowan Lake State Park with an awesome view of the lake. My husband is a park ranger. My son Ryan is 24 and he graduated last year with a BA in English and Communication Arts from the University of the Cumberlands in KY. I am an avid genealogy researcher and recently received a lifetime membership award from the Gallia County Historical Society. I have one dog: Zoey (a miniature dachshund) Zoey loves life on the lake in her huge fenced-in yard.
My son decided to take a vacation last year after graduation and went to North Carolina to visit family. The first full day he was there he had an ATV accident and broke his sternum and his back. He suffered a spinal cord injury and is now a para. We have spent the last year and a half in and out of hospitals with my father-in-law and my son. Ryan is doing awesome! He is going back to school this fall for his master's degree in ? He is going to teach broadcasting classes at UofC when he finishes.
We backpack a little, love to camp, love to play in the garden and hang clothes out on the clothes line. We like to watch the wildlife and birds. We love politics and working on campaigns, going to the library, spending time on the river in SE Ohio, Remo's hotdogs, volunteering in the park and spending time with family. Oh, I forgot I love to cook! We love spend...Expand for more
ing time on the deck, grilling and watching the boats on the lake. We love to go out for pizza or mexican, visit with friends and we love to play cards.
I have finished 5 books -3 of which are on sale at the Gallia Co. Historical Society, several articles for county history books and I've had a window display featured on the front page of the Columbus Dispatch's Metro Section.
I am currently writing a book about my father's hometown, Cheshire, Ohio which was sold to a power company for $20 million. -I finished the book!! It is available from M.T. Publishing, Inc. out of Evansville, IN. Now I am working on getting my certification to be a professional genealogist. I have been working on the history of the Roush family(updating), the Mauck family and of course all of the families from Cheshire. I host a yahoogroup for the village of Cheshire.
Questions for Q & A should be Pepsi over Coke? Pepsi! And why are camels and orangutans not on the list of pets you wish you had? One of my favorite things to do in TN is to go to the exotic petting zoo and see the camels and the baby pigme goats! The camels are Romeo, Juliette and Rosie (Rosie is their baby). The baby pigme goats are just like puppies! If you pick them up expect to get nuzzled and kissed just like you were holding a puppy! My favorite show on animal planet is Orangutan Island and Animal Cops Houston.
