Sharon's Story
After graduating from HHS, I entered University Hospital School of Nursing in Birmingham where I graduated and became an RN. Shortly afterwards, I obtained my BSN from the newly established UAB School of Nursing. In the early 70's, having married Ronnie Hamilton, we moved to the Washington DC's Virginia suburbs where we lived for the next 24 years. I obtained my Master of Science in Nursing from the Catholic University of America in Washington DC. great satisfaction for me. Most of my career was spent in nursing leadership/management positions while living in Virginia. We moved back to Birmingham in 1998 and, as often happens, I find myself back where I started - I am now an instructor at the UAB School of Nursing. To say that I love nursing would be an understatement. Currently I live in Pelham with my husband. We have one son.
It is hard to fathom that it has been almost 50 years since we all walked down the aisle in Hueytown to receive our High School Diploma - what an amazing life!
