Sharon's Story
Life
Hello All,
We are Montanans. I practice small town Cardiology at 2 different rural clinics. Our 14 year old daughter Kristel just graduated from the 8th grade. She is excited to start High School next year.
Our major activities revolve around our family. We geocache, hike, ATV and ride around site seeing and taking photos of the beautiful animals and scenery. Our pets love it here. I have to admit, it is difficult to get used to the howling of the coyotes some moonlit nights. We live at a much slower relaxed pace. There is no such thing as running over to the mall. The nearest mall is over an hour away. It's nothing like the shopping in Merrillville. We do a lot of our shopping over the internet. Thank God for UPS.
Unfortunately, my health has provided us with a little drama. At the end of February, 2008, I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast carcinoma. I'm now almost done with chemo...2 more t...Expand for more
o go. Radiation is next for 33 treatments then onto reconstructive surgery. I'm not telling you this to make you feel sorry for me. I'm hoping that you all will remember to have your cancer screenings done on time so you can hopefully avoid following me down this path. Don't get me wrong, I still work full time and with the support of my wonderful family, this will just be a forgotten bump in the road in the near future.
Anyway,this summer we plan to begin our tour of the National Parks in Montana. We're starting with Glacier National Park in hopes of seeing some Grizzlies and other wildlife. We may well venture into Canada since it's so close to home. Next summer we have our sites set on Alaska or Hawaii. So much to see and do here on the West Coast. It's truly God's Country! I'm excited to see all of you at our reunion. I'm sure we've all turned into some pretty special people over the years. See you there.
