Life
Hello to all of you. I graduated in the Spring of 2000 from the UW with a Music Education degree and am currently teaching orchestra in grades 5-8.
School
I honestly cannot remember many details about high school. I wish now that I had been bolder about some things and that I was more concerned for some people. I loved track, cross country was great, but more just to get in shape for track...I remember going on long runs and getting side-tracked looking for four leaf clovers, and taking all the little side trails at St. Ed's. Mr. Curtis would ask me a question, and having a great time on all the band and orchestra trips...except for having to carry the bass amp about a 1/4 mile in Florida to perform. I don't know how I got up every morning for jazz band...riding with Amy Moen (now Surace) was so much fun...aside from skidding on the ice on Simonds Road...and running over the squirrel. Hurray for the xc overnights! And mornings standing outside Curtis's portable smelling the air for 'trackness' in the spring...what joy. Mr. Bower's 'Chemistea', and doing math olympiad and the nhsme. I so loved that test.
