Sharon's Story
Life
Well lets see...After high school I attended Queen's University in Kingston where I earned my BA in economics...I joined the military as a logistics officer shortly after graduation...my boyfriend at the time attended RMC (Royal Military College). I spent some time in Montreal as well as in Ottawa before I "retired" from the military...the offer was just too good to pass up. I then joined Digital Equipment of Canada as the Eastern Canada Logistics Mananger where I stayed until Jan 2001 (went through several name changes to COMPAQ and finally Hewlett Packard...one bought out the other and so on). I have to back up a little...I went on vacation in summer of 1998 in the Turks and Caicos where I tried scuba diving for the first time...and the rest is history. I fell in love with my instructor and we married in Sept 2000 (that's Jon and I in the photo). We then relocated to Seattle in Jan 2001 (just before the infamous 911 event) for his job as a research sci...Expand for more
entist in the biotech industry at Ceptyr Inc. I found a job at Philips Medical Systems as their North American Logistics and Planning Manager. We have since bought a house just north of Seattle with three bedrooms and are working at filling them up. On Sept 26, 2003 we had a little girl, her name is Leah Paige...I returned to work in Feb 2004 (no benefits in the US like in Canada but then we don't have the high taxes either)...We have a great Nanny that takes care of Leah although she will be transitionning to daycare this summer...In the fall of 2005 we had another little girl. Life has settled down to a steady pace. I was recently promoted at work to Senior Manager and my husband to Senior Scientist. The girls are happy in "school". Leah is learning her phonics and Lauren is starting to talk up a storm (like mother like daughter). We are thinking about relocating closer to family but it is not imminent.
