Sharon's Story

Life Hi there! Nothing too exciting! Married Chad Vitley in 1994. We have a 13 year old daughter (she is great!). I went to UW, partied till I couldn't see straight. Took a break, got married, got pregnant, went back to school and finally graduated in 1999!! After almost 8 years of marriage our divorce was final July 2002. I was an Office Manager/Legal Assistant at a law firm in Laramie. I quit in Sept 2000 and I went to work for Kinko's as a Commercial Business Representative and I have relocated to the Dallas, TX area where I was a Territory Rep at 2 Kinko's branches for a year and working as an inside sales representative for a single branch - Sr. Customer Consultant, I then became an Asst Mgr in 2004. On January 31, 2005, I started a new job at FedEx Kinko's Corporate Offices in Dallas, TX, in the Global Sourcing Dept. After 7 mths, I was able to transfer & move up to a Product Specialist for Core Products in our Field Operations Support team. It has been a great change of pace & I'm loving my new job even though I now commute about 30-45 minutes each way. It has been fun & exciting learning a different side of the business. Yes I love the heat & the humidity. It does get very hot but it is well worth it in comparison to the windy, cold & dry winters of Wyoming! I know I will never go back! In fact I haven't been back since Thanksgiving 2003. Sept 2007 I was promoted to a Program Mgr in my dept maintaining my same duties. Work is going well! June 2008 - house search finalized! Moving July 1st to my house and closing July 29th! My first house purchase by myself! Woo Hoo - 30 years of instant debt!! For those that don't know - March 17, 2003, Aspen & I lost Chad in a tragic car accident. He was traveling back from the Midwest Basketball Tournaments in Las Vegas with his girlfriend & her parents. They were driving through Rock Springs, WY in a snow storm w/icy roads, the truck rolled and Chad was killed. He is missed by many people. It has been a very rough time but Aspen is doing very well & I am so thankful to all of our great friends & family that have been there for us. I love you guys! I don't know what I would do without all of the great friends that Chad & I made & who have always been like family. Thanks to all of you. It has been 5 yrs since we lost Chad. The 1st yr was rough & put us through many ups & downs. Aspen has done very well thru it all. She smiles alot & has really grown alot. The summer of 2004 she started a ...Expand for more
cheer class & joined the competitive squad Feb 2005. In 5th grade she was very active in her school organizations. She was on newspaper club, student council, & played African drums. For 6th grade she has improved so much, her grades are much better & most important is the great attitude she is displaying towards school. 7th grade she started playing the Viola and loves it! She is pretty good too. She is now dabbling with acoustic guitar and continuing Viola in 8th grade. She also joined the 8th grade cheer team at her middle school. Each yr shows more progress for her & each year is happier than the year before. All our friends & family have been wonderful support. I can't thank everyone enough. Summer 2004 we took our first real vacation to Panama City, FL. It was a wonderful time! We swam in the ocean, kayaked, snorkeled, rented a jet ski, took a boat ride to see dolphins & hand fed baby sting rays. We will definitely go back soon! We are now planning a vacation to Hawaii in Jan 06 for my cousins wedding. We made it to Hawaii in Jan 2006 & it was awesome. Both Aspen & I fell in love with Hawaii. We can't wait to go back see the other islands. If I could afford to, I would definitely relocate! I can't even begin to describe the beauty & tranquility we experienced. You just have to try it yourself. We headed back to WY for Xmas 2006! Uggh, cold, snow, wind, uggghh! Oh well, it will be nice to see friends & family again. June 2007 - we took our first cruise. We stopped at Cozumel & Progresso Mexico. The boat was very relaxing & Aspen had a ball! Aspen 7th grade year has started out very well. She has made all As & Bs for the first time. She also started playing the Viola which she loves. She is on the dance team and she will join track in Feb too. This has been her best year ever! 2008 - No vacation this year. I set my sights on buying my first house in TX. July 29th I closed on my new house in Carrollton, Tx!! Went home to Cheyenne for Xmas - it was too cold to snow! School Not much to say. I was a military brat. I spent 6th grade through high school in Cheyenne, WY. I attended both Central and East High School. I graduated in 1990 from East High. College Was I prepared for college? NO! Did I enjoy it? YES! Do I have regrets? Of course! Did I finish? Yes! Would I do it all again? Yes, but different!! Workplace Work, work, work, makes life no fun! FedEx Kinko's for the last 8 years. Military My dad was in the Army.
