Sharon's Story

I have had the opportunity to live in and visit some interesting places -- I think that my favorite time is when I lived in Frankfurt, Germany. It was an exciting time to be there -- experiencing the release of the Americans that were held hostage in Iran -- they landed at Rhein Main Air Force Base upon their release. Later on that night members of the American community watched President Carter disembark his plane and wave to us as we held our flags in greeting. Then there were the romantic lights of Paris, interesting cities in the Netherlands and of course travel in Germany. What I loved most in my travels were the old buildings -- having lunch in a building that was erected in the 1400's -- and then there is the history, of course. Stepping on pavement stones that Charlemagne might have stepped on so many years before me!! My best accomplishment has been raising three great children and now enjoy spending time with seven grandchildren. All of my children have done well in life and have made me proud -- and now their children are doing well in school -- know that when they enter high school, some of them will be members of the honor society and Mu Alpha Theta! Worked as both a librarian and a paralegal (graduated from cours...Expand for more
es with A- average). Wanted to continue on to get a law degree, but being an only child meant that I also had to help as a sometimes care giver for my parents and for a time I also found myself as a sole parent to my children. Just too much on my plate to take education further. At the present time I spend my time traveling (mostly in USA, although I have plans to travel to Grand Turks for a family reunion in two years from now). Interesting places here -- Hardy, Arkansas on my way to Branson and Eureka Springs, AR. It was fun watching Discovery channel's "Clash of the Ozarks", which was filmed around 6 months after I was in Hardy. Eureka Springs is an interesting place -- complete with the haunted Crescent Hotel, where I experienced what I believe to be a brief encounter with one of the resident ghosts! Branson was fun -- especially the Titanic museum -- came under the spell of the Titanic when I was 12 year old, so needless to say, I really enjoyed the museum. While I'm home, I generally work on my hobbies -- photography, cross stitch, crocheting and knitting -- and playing with three miniature schnauzers who keep me busy. Looking forward to hearing from fellow classmates and hopefully will be able to attend the 50th reunion!
