Shaun's Story
Life
Hi to anyone I used to know, hope you are doing great. After Auburn High, I went to Highline for a few years and then UW for my business/IS degree. I worked in public accounting doing taxes for 6 years before coming to my current job. Now I work for a great group of physicians in Auburn running their businesses and taking care of their technology.
I live in south end with my wife and daughter. My son is due to be born around May 2006. I spend whatever free time I have doing fun things with my family. I have definately improved my fitness since school, running 20-30 miles a week, skiing in the winter and hiking/climbing in the summer. One of the Dr.'s I work for is a serious climber and I climbed Mt.Rainier with him for the second time last summer (it was his 30th time up Mt. Rainier!). That same day we climbed last July, an 80-tear-old guy made it to the top, so that was pretty amazing.
School
Biggest crush, are you kidding? I was a teenage boy and had a momentary crush on every girl I happened to pass during the day. It's been almost 20 years, so not much recall r/e Auburn High. But I think if I could go back, I would be much cooler now than I was then (if that makes any sense).
College
Highline to UW, not much of a big deal here. Did much better with grades in college than in Hi...Expand for more
gh School mostly because I found out real quick that mom & dad weren't picking up the tab any more. Never did much social stuff in college, just work and study. Got through ASAP to start making money.
Graduated UW in 93 with degree in accounting & info.sys.
Workplace
Had fun jobs during college running ski lifts & teaching ski lessons at Crystal Mtn. during winter. During summer I worked ramp (throwing bags) at the airport for Alaska and other airlines. I also worked for a bank during school. Me and a high school buddy also worked DJ'ing school dances and weddings for a few years until we sold our equipment and started a garage rock band. The band lasted a while and we played at a few local bars until we all graduated college and got day jobs. I played bass.
After school I went to work for a CPA firm doing taxes for 6 years. The physician group I work for now is a client of my CPA firm, so I came to work for them when it made sense and have been here 5 years now. I enjoy my job allot, and get to do allot of cool stuff like managing healthcare businesses, negotiating contracts and building facilities.
I think the next step (given that my dreams of rock stardom are probably not happening) would be to work for a big hospital doing what I am now on a larger scale.
Military
Uhhm.... nope.
