Shawn's Story

I hope my friends remember me as someone who cared. My party buddies, I hope they realized that they they could have counted on me for anything. It really makes me sad that I have lost touch with everyone from High School. I blow off steam by working in the yard. Best therapy is pulling weeds. In the winter I either shovel snow or rake leaves. I won't go into detail but probably the wildest time was when Rogers, Valentine, Dickerson (from Indy) and I went to a FB game at KU. Craig was on crutches from hurting his ankle the previous night. I think we were playing Sedan, not sure. Anyway his crutches got thrown over a fence and then Dickerson put on a demo for Mike and I. Will never forget that road trip. My hero without a doubt has to be John Paul II. He was the person who shaped the 20th Century the most. All the good he had done would fill volumes, defintely not enough room here. I would love to have a fraction of his If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have respect, accountability, and authority to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My hero without a doubt would be John Paul II. He is the person who shaped the 20th Century the most. Talking of him could fill volumes, definitely not enough room here. I wish I had a fraction of the faith, patience and love he had. I live in Shawnee, KS - suburb of Kansas City, MO. I wanted to move to a place where I would have a chance of seeing my beloved Steelers play. No, I took a job with a law firm here. My obsessions is football (any) and college basketball. For the first time ever, I got tickets from the opening game of NAIA tourney though the final game. 31 games. I loved it. My divorce. I had no idea, did not see it coming at all. Caught me totally off guard. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the 4 season room and add on a fireplace. My dream home would be a castle in Europe. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Carol McGloughlin, because just to catch up, I always had a secret crush on her. Alas, no children. Ms. Cottingim (sp?). She was picked on by many but I liked and respected her. She liked me as well and she didn't like many. If I won $100 million, I'd give 10 million of it to the church, then spend the rest o...Expand for more
n wine, women and song. No, was not a frat boy. Many say college years are the best of their lives but to me, they were the worst. I would be heads groundskeeper on a major golf course (somewhat like caddy shack). With whom is a very good question. I have a couple of people in mind. My current age is 50. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old farts. I was so completely right. I have been doing what I have been for so long, it would virtually be impossible to change fields and start over from scrach again. Currently I am the Director of Records and New Business Intake for a law firm in KC with 11 offices. I travel quite a bit. Suzanne Jones from Independence. As far as I know she is still married and living the good life. Still think of her from time to time, i.e. see 3 paragraphs earlier. My best friend would tell you I'm a great frued, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as cocky. Hell, I don't know style. I buy what's bought for me. I figure they know more about that than me. Weirdest job I have ever had was cleaning the grease pit at Smitty's gas station because I knew what was all in there. Geez, feel like I need a shower right now. I share my home with my mother in law, which I find I am lowest on the totem pole. No, I do not have any tropies on mantel. I finally gsve up the jock ways. The single biggest thrill for me was winning the 8th grade Tri-Valley league championship since we lost it in 7th grade. Funny what you hold onto. There would be several but since you limit it to one, I would say the way that I treated D.G. (she knows who she is). She deserved much better and much more than what happened. In 10 years, I hope to be Chief Operating Officer of Records Systems. OK, do the acronym and you'll get the joke. I'm going to get there by firm expansion. Oldest friends would have to be Robert King or Mike Rogers. We were always playing some kind of sports together. If we didn't, there was nothing really to do. That I actually can and do act like an adult. My first job was at my dad's store, where I got paid $1 to work behind the soda fountain. What I remember most about it is the old guy who would come in twice a day for his bromo seltzer.
