Shawna's Story
Life
In HS I was one of "the twins". Those were the days I will never forget ~ unfortunately, LOL!! Here is my brief bio: I enjoy outdoor activities (bike riding, hiking, and sports) and love the outdoors: Treking through wilderness, camping, etc. I also like reading adventure novels, educational & fiction & National Geographic. Currently I am the MIS/Marketing Coordinator for a real estate office in Palm Desert. I am currently in a long-term relationship and engaged to be married, who knows when. I don't have children but on very large black cat! Well, I hope that's not TMI: LOL! Take care~CyberChick:)
PS - The answer to my PET PEEVES is OTHER: 1. People who talk with that irritating dry mouth crackling noise. 2. People who don't get to the point right away or drone on incessantly. 3. People who don't wash their hands when they use the restroom or have just eaten greasy food. I am wierd, and I know it.....:)
School
I loved the academics in school - I used my books to hide from the people as I was not exactly cute. I drowned myself in my education to...Expand for more
also escape my home life.
College
I never knew what I was going to do when I grew up so I majored in boring Liberal Arts and graduated with honors from COD in May of 1995. It wasn't until 1999 when I landed my current job as MIS at a commercial real estate firm that my nickname "CyberChick" really helped shape my career today.
Workplace
I am really fortunate to be a very important part of Baxley Properties, Inc. in Palm Desert, CA - the top commercial real estate office in the Coachella Valley and in the top-ten for Southern California (a status I proudly helped create!) I plopped in about 5.30 pm for my first interview with no resume and bluffed my way in. I cracked books at night to catch up and became the "CyberChick", the techno-hungry, problem-solving, marketing, mapping and project guru, a job I so much enjoy. I have my very own office with a private entrance. I have a relatively flexible schedula and the pay is excellent. In return, I bust my tail to make all the sales agents look good. So, it's a fair trade! I wouldn't give up my job for the world!
