Sheila's Story
Life
After high school, I attended T.H.Harris VoTech School in Opelousas, LA for 2-1/2 for Clerical Studies. After that my first real job relating to my field of study was working in Baton Rouge for the Highway Adminstration Dept during the summer. Several months after that, realizing I should be doing more and I felt I'd ave a better chance of finding something better, I moved away from Morrow. My first and last stop was Galveston, TX, where I now reside. I've been here since 1986. And for some of you that remember, Terry Kelly and I were an item all through high school... was partly the reason for me leaving. We are in touch and I can truly say we are now really good friends now.
I have 2 daughter Ashton and Morgan. They are 3 years apart, Ashton 14 and Morgan 11. We live in Galveston, TX.
Workplace
I work at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, TX. I've been working here since March of '87. I can truely say that it's been great. I've been in the same department all these years. I've had a more than 10 different job titles (all advancements). I went from a Clerk Typist to Sr. Administrative Assistant (as of 2005). In a few more years I hope to retire from here.
