Shelley's Story
Added....4-11-15 50th reunion has come and gone. It gave me a chance to reunite with many people I grew up with from first grade on. I posted a newer photo from taking a trip to the Old Sacramento Train Museum a month or so ago with 3 high school friends. It's been a great experience to get together for fun socializing. We've been sharing memories of our youth as well as catch up stories of our younger years. I'd say we are all growing gracefully into our senior years!!
11/27/14 Happy Thanksgiving. I just posted my "Now photo" from Halloween with my family...FUN. Thanksgiving was great today, too. My sister moved to this area in September so we all met at her place for a great meal and great visits...grandkids (4 & 9) kept busy outside until dinner time. Hope YOU are doing well and enjoying our "evolution". The reunion was fun, too. I look forward to our next one!
4/18/14 UPDATE, job ends May 8th. I look forward to the 50th reunion...can you believe it? 50 years!!
12/08 Shelley Johnson, a name out of the past, doesn't really fit me anymore. I attended Lafayette Elementary School from 1st grade and graduated from Acalanes in 1964. I figured classmates are more likely to remember that name. I began using my given name, Michelle Elizabeth, when I started working.

lle E. Smith in 1968, divorced in 1979, never remarried. Changing from Johnson to Smith didn't make me ordinary, just less visible. I went from a working mom to a business owner, then back to school as an adult learner to earn a Master Degree in 2003.
I'm single, educated, and living in the Sierra Foothills. I work for Brandman/Chapman University in Folsom, recruiting students and faculty, developing student schedules, planning courses, keeping students organized, etc.
I love having many friends, still take classes for fun (Geology, graphic design) and love going on field trips. My latest photos from the trip to Mono Lake are posted. I don't smoke, drink, or do drugs. Staying healthy is at the top of my list.
My 6 year old grandson is the apple of my eye; he is my son's son. I often have him with me on Friday nights...boy, how times have changed! My sister still lives in Walnut Creek and I visit her often. My daughter had a baby boy August 6, 2010 so I am excited to be a grandma again and he is a doll.
Glad to see so many other people from Acalanes Class of 1964 are here. I am looking forward to another reunion soon. Drop me a line by email any time to melizabeth2 at sbcglobal dot net. Looking forward to hearing from old classmates and friends, Michelle Smith aka Shelley Johnson
