Shelley's Story
After a 20 year starter marriage followed by a couple of years rediscovering the singles world, I met my husband on the Internet, in a chat room! One month later, he proposed. And the rest, as they say, is history.
My son is my proudest accomplishment. He is bright, sensitive, highly creative and has a wickedly perverse sense of humor. He is an awesome music teacher and musician.
My husband and I love to travel - especially on our Harley Davidson motorcycle - and do so whenever possible. We are members of the Patriot Guard (comprised of veterans - and their partners - who ride motorcycles) and, as ...Expand for more
such, have traveled near and far to escort our fallen soldiers to their families, as well as welcoming home returning soldiers.
A brain tumor at the age of 50 halted my 25 year career as a paralegal. Thankfully, most of the tumor was removed but its aftereffects forced me to make a midlife career change and a return to college. I then spent 5 years working in and for medical clinics.
I am now retired and own a hand-crafted jewelry company called Brains and Boobs (referencing my brain tumor and my dear friend’s breast cancer). I make earrings, bracelets and necklaces and sell them at local craft shows.
