Sheri's Story
Life
To all of my classmates and friends throughout life:
I have lived all over the world and gone to schools in Europe mostly. I was in the Army from 1984 to 1987 (active duty, stationed at the Presidio of San Francisco), and then in the Army Reserves. I also had a federal career that was from 81 to 83, and then again from 87 to 97, and I retired on federal disability retirement after having worked at the San Francisco VA. I also began collecting Social Security disability (SSA, based on work quarters and Medicare) in 2000. Until 2005, I was 20% disabled through the Veterans' Administration, but in May, 2005, I received a 100% rating through the Veterans' Administration, where I get the DOD card that military retirees get, except I don't receive the Tricare and Delta Dental, but do get dental care at any VA Hospital, and all of the other benefits that retirees get. After certain things that I went through in the Army, I feel like the 100% rating was long overdue. I could easily say, that I feel like I am already a military retiree with the 100% rating, as the benefits are almost all the same.
My daughter, Jessica, who is 23, received the ...Expand for more
pageant for Ms. Florida in 2003. One day, reconciliation will take place. I thought there was reconciliation on January 8, 07. but no response since that date, which means no desire for reconciliation on Jessica's part.. Her identical twin sister, Jennifer, tragically died in the care of the parents who raised me in 1985 when they went to Spain.
I am still trying to figure out if I am adopted or not, as the things that happened when I arrived through the Army in San Francisco in 1985, speak for themselves. Anonymous gifts from a family here who resembles me in looks and physical characteristics, as well as medical ailments, means they are related, but they never would directly admit to it. I am hopeful they finally will come forward this year, 2007.
Since 2001, I have been traveling between San Francisco and Milwaukee, WI (where the boyfriend resides), but Wisconsin is too uneventful and boring, and slowly, I am integrating myself back into San Francisco itself. It feels "lifeless" in Milwaukee and "dead end" type of activities.
I am looking foward to others who may like to get into contact with me.
Sincerely,
Sheri Singh-Minhas
