As a pianist/guitarist/songwriter (who still can't read music!) I started a rock band after high school. Sadly, my American Idol career ended when I became a dental tech at Andrews AFB in D.C. Our unit took care of Presidents Nixon, Johnson (Lyndon not Andrew!) and heads of state. I married my brother's wife's sister (isn't that incest?) in 1972. Lived in Johnstown, PA (the Flood City). Worked at an oldies radio station where we temporarily set the Guiness record for number of songs played in 4 hours. Appeared in the Paul Newman hockey movie "Slap Shot" which was filmed there. Moved back to CT after a killer flood in 1977. Was a Supervisor at Wallingford's Masonic Hospital for 27 years. Wrote 100 plus humor articles for their newspaper. Hated the humidity, work and winters . Moved my wife, my huge music collection and 2 dogs to New Mexico in Dec '05. We live next door to our 20 year old granddaughter (who has won several national cheerleading championships) and daughter who married a NM native whose uncle was lawman Elfego Baca , Living in the desert across from an Indian reservation overlooking the Rio Grande River, Route 66, the Sandia mountains and a dozen casinos (I have to fight to keep my wife away!), I'm currently selling music and movie items on eBay. I play my Big Band music for everyone at the Senior Center (yes, I am a member) and help my daughter and son-in-law with their real estate business which is now in the top 5% for sales. I missed my former job of working with the elderly and Alzheimer's patients, so after five years of retirement I became an Activities Director for three Beehive assisted living homes. I develop programs to jog resident's memories and playing my old music has worked wonders for them. I get more joy from the people than they do from m...Expand for more
