Sherri's Story
Life
I am the daughter of Patti Starbuck-Swetkovich (North High - Bakersfield CA.) and Ed Swetkovich (San Bernardino High - San Bernardino CA). Dad passed away 12/12/04 from Liver Cancer. He is terribly missed. Mom remarried and is traveling the world while dancing the nights away with her new husband Fred. I have traveled to Hong Kong with the Billy Graham Cursade as part of the TV crew. I was able to meet Mr. Graham. He truly is a humble and wonderfully kind man. I have also been to Itay, Germany, Austria, Southern Bavaria, Canada and of course Mexico. I have had a 308 GTS Ferrari, red of course. And had a blast as a member of the Ferrari club. I have been able to be on TV commercials world wide and have been in promos for a health tv show ( for you locals - remember Captian Carrot?). I was using my Masters degree until 8/6/08 as one of 3 Speech, Language and Learning Pathologists at a private school for mainly special needs children pre-school through 8th grade. I worked only 3 days a week leaving me 4 days a week to be a full time mom and wife. However due to the current economy I interviewed for a public school possition which is full time. I have already been the "boss" and concider myself semi retired now. I have been the Rehabilitation Director in 3 different SNF's and one Rehabilitation Hospital in the Bay area. One was 220 beds and we ran a about 27 staff per day of PT's, OT's and ST"s. Unfortunantly I have had 2 failed marriages and am now on #3 which I intend to make last a lifetime. (10 years so far). I have 3 boys; born 7/10/05, 10/26/2000 and one who turned 25 in August 2008. I live in the country on some acerage above El Dorado Hills California and have an awesome view overlooking Jackson, and Amador County and in the other direction you can see the snow caps of the Sierra mountian range. We have deer, coyote, rabbits, turkey and all the fun wildlife of the hill country. Life has been hard at times but for the most part it has been a GREAT RIDE!
College
I first wanted to be a nurse and recieved an AA in pre-nursing from Sierra Collage by attending summer school sessions. I was attending Abilene Christian University during the regular sessions and was accepted to nursing school there however I had a premiee baby and saw all the hard work nurses do and changed majors to Speech, Langu...Expand for more
age and Learning Pathology. I recieved my Bachelors from ACU in Texas and then completed my Masters in 10 months at University of the Pacific in Stockton CA. I hope to return for my Doctorate when my youngest son is also in college.

I have been getting a lot of visits from younger OHS students.
Joe is retired Shasta County Sheriffs Dept. and has one son 12 and has a little boy who is now 6. He and his wife Laurie are foster parents. I admire thier ability to care for and nurture these wonderful but less fortunate children. Joe still loves to hunt and fish. He also still does Dad's company on the side. ABC vac. Company.
Darren has a set of twins. A girl and a boy who are 12 and a younger son who is 5. He is still a police officer in Reno. He is superman. He is a regular street officer AND... he works in the hellicopter, on the gang squad, the SWAT team, teaches at the accademy and he is the union rep. for the officers. He and his wife Michelle are doing well. They like to go camping and spend time together as a family. The kids all play sports with 3 games of some sort every sat. Darren says "Hi" to all his "visitors" and you may contact him by calling the Reno Police Department and leaving a message for him there. (He had missed some of you on previous visits to Reno. )
Mom has been remarried for 2 years now. She and Fred travel the world and the country. They are gone almost every other month to somewhere.
Dad is very much missed. I wish he could have seen my son Coltin and shared many more years with us. We still think of him daily and love him dearly.
4/2010- update
Still working on the addition. Still sharing 1 bedroom for the 4 of us. Hopefully the down stairs bedrooms will be completed this summer.
Bjorn works for a company that had him traveling the contry installing computer systems. Brain lost is father April 2010. Brian has started his own company as an architect and I still work at an elementary school. I enjoy working with the children from preschool age to 5th grade. The vacation time is awesome. I get to spend a lot of time with my family.
