Sherry's Story
Life
After leaving NHS, I went to nursing school and after graduating, I worked at Watts hospital in cardiology. I became a cardiology tech III. I met my first husband there, who was a physcian's assistant for a cardiologist. We had one son who is now 34 yrs. old. He is married and lives in Lake Mary Florida with his wife Angela and my 4 year old grandson Jackson and Cameron Lea,my granddaughter, who just turned 2 on Aug.23,2009. I go see them as often as possible.I now work part-time for Duke Clinical Research Institute. (I do this from home). I do a cardiovascular heart study follow-up for Duke heart patients which is done over the phone. I have had some serious health issues in my life. I had a liver transplant on 4-27-92, due to a rare liver disease and the medications I take have caused some other medical problems. I have tried to see these experiences in a positive light, as opportunities to show others the faithfulness of the Lord who has been good to me and taught me what real peace is. There are times, though, that I think about my school days, and how I miss some of the old gang. But honestly I wouldn't go back. ones with my best buddies, Judy Jacobs and Paula Browning, and Sue Huffines. We had so much fun together! Driving the "route" ending up at the Dairy Bar, looking for boys! We didn't realize how good we had it back then. We were too preoccupied with boys and wondering who our true love would be, but I guess that was just part of growing up. Real life is a lot harder! Those growing up years were hard, but they were also the happiest of my life. We were full of life and we were all healthy, something we took for granted back then, but not anymore. And now I'm a grandma! I can hardly grasp the idea! Time really flies the older you get! It's amazing, too, how our priorities change over the years and how; what really matters in this life, changes for each of us. For me it's love of family and the true friends that have lasted over a lifetime. I'm happy and thankful to say I am very blessed with both. It has always been my desire to be a good friend, because I believe you have to be a good friend first, to have good, loyal friends. I just pray they feel the same way about me! I hope we have a reunion sooner rather than later, I would love to see some of the old gang again. Anyway I hope to see you all in the near future.Take Care and God bless! Sherry
