Sherry's Story
Life
After high school I went and worked for an oil company doing drafting of survey maps. That lead to night school at Sait and the University taking geophysics, geology. Physics! I never thought it would ever be useful to me when I was in high school! I traveled alot with the company as assitant geophysist, especially Venezuela. That got the travel bug in me! I took up modeling on the side......remember how tall I am? I took full advantage of it! (smile)
So, I went to work in Italy 20 years ago as a model doing editorial photos and runway, and met my Italian hubby. Now I am living in the countryside on the rolling hills of Tuscany and have one son....just approaching the teen years. Yikes! Took me a while to learn the Italian language and get used to this "different" way of living but love it here now.
I am working as an artist and do volunteer work helping those who have had some hard knocks in life. Hubby was in the fabric making business and worked closely with international clothing designers. He since has sold the business and semi retired (already!) so I have him around m...Expand for more
uch more now! That takes getting used to! We have fixed up some big old stone farmhouses and made them into vacation homes as our primary business in retirement (I know I am not yet near retirement!). Hubby and I have our daily spit-spats after 17 years of marriage! But things are pretty good between us. I think I am just retraining him of late and naturally he is resisting! (big smile with teeth!)
While I am not in any way a nerd/geek, I do love the computer and do pretty well on it. I am surprised how I could get into chatting and all that stuff! Yes, I love it! ....but really, art is my passion! I do well with my painting, having done many shows and I sell my work well, although each one is my "baby" and I am sad to see them go! I do think art is to be shared and is property of mankind. At least that is what I tell myself! Heee!
Hubby and I love to travel and I have been to many places in the world. Russia is our next destination, although there is plenty to see in Italy.
I do come back to Calgary once a year for a visit with family there. Life is good! (smile) Sherry
