Sheryl's Story
Life
Sheryl Wolbrum-Schwam is an accomplished and innovative entrepreneur. She credits her intuitive understanding of people and technology for all of her many successful business ventures.
Sheryl began her career in 1977, working for a large recruiting firm, placing computer operators and technology personnel with elite financial firms in New York City. Within three years she became a partner, continuing to build a client base among the Fortune100 financial institutions.
In 1984, she founded her own company, The Protocol Connection, with its focus on placing permanent positions in New York CityÂs most elite financial institutions. The Protocol Connection opened as a core agency with an impressive list of clients including JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Salomon Brothers, Merrill Lynch, and other Fortune 100 companies.
In 1995, Sheryl observed the American Corporate working environment had drastically changed and she wanted her company to address that change by filling not only full time positions, but also technology project related and consulting positions with the same quality standards she had always offered her clients. To meet this goal, she founded her second company, TCP Inc. TCPÂs consulting practice has a client base that now includes Bloomber,Netwoks,E*Trade,JP Morgan, CSFB, HSBCBank, Bank of New York, Swiss-Re, Société Générale Group, and Merrill Lynch.
Sheryl often uses her business skills to help people on a personal level. In November of 2002, with the merger of JP Morgan and Chase, 50 full time and consulting employees at Verizon were targeted for termination. With the trust and respect Sheryl had generated from these companies throughout her career, she was able to successfully see that all 50 people were retained within the newly merged company. She saw it as a win/win situation, and that November was a very happy Thanksgi...Expand for more
ving for her.
In 2003, while still overseeing the growing operations of The Protocol Connection and TCP inc., Sheryl launched Call Sheryl L.L.C., branching out to small businesses, start-ups and advanced home-based computer systems. She continues to act as president for all three companies, and loved the opportunity she had to exercise her creative talents in over-seeing all aspects of developing and designing Call SherylÂs award winning website available in Flash, HTML,English and Spanish, with services based in New York and the UK. Call Sheryl is a licensed reseller for IBM, Dell, Cisco, HP, and other top market manufacturers. It operates 24/7, offering all the benefits of a fully staffed IT department to smaller businesses. Her goal with this new company is to provide smaller companies and start-ups the opportunity to focus on their growth and productivity without the prohibitive burden and cost of maintaining an in-house technology team.
Recently, Sheryl has been honored to speak for The Technology Executives Networking Group (TENG) in New York City before nearly 100 senior level CEOs, Directors and VPs in the world of corporate finance, and other Senior Level Technical Personnel on the subject of the personal and professional dynamics involved in successfully staffing and recruiting technology experts for global financial institutions.
Sheryl has raised two daughters, both of whom attended the Birch Wathen Lenox School. SherylÂs eldest daughter, graduated from Simmons College and will be attending Simmons Master Program in the Fall, Alexandra ( A.J) is attending Ithaca Drama Department in September.Sheryl is a graduate of NYU Business School, a competitive swimmer, an avid landscape photographer, a philanthropist and member of The Brain Tumor Foundation who also does service for many Non Profit Groups in her beloved City of Manhattan.
