Shielaugh's Story
After highschool I attended the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio. Where after 4 years of hard work I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in illustration on May 10, 2003.
In August of 2003 I left the East Coast, to move across the country to California to begin studying for my Master's Degree at The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. On May 26, 2006 I graduated with distinction, with MFA in children's book illustration.
I fell in love with the west coast and I now live in Crockett, California which is 30 minutes from San Francisco! I hope to stay in the area, and my next goal is to buy a house.

assitant art teacher, a sales associate at Cord Camera, a lab tech in the Ceramics lab of CCAD, and as a teacher/registrar/coordinator/ arts specialist for the EC Rec department and then for the City of Mill Valley as the Facility Supervisor. I now am a self employed freelance children's book illustrator. I also volunteered as the MFA Illustration Rep at AAU from Fall 04-Fall 06, and have worked as a volunteer designer for child abuse preventon committees. My latest volunteer position was as President of the El Cerrito Art Association, followed by Art Show Chair. Since graduating for AAU I have illustrated 6 children's full length books, and I am currently working on my 7th one.
