Shirley's Story

I'm still happy to be around at age 89! I married Jack Waggoner in 1946 and have four children, John, Linda, Martha and Carol. They are all happily married and gave me 10 grandchildren and now 7 great grandchildren with an 8th on the way. I spent my entire career as a homemaker and Jack was in sales with E.J. Brach , a candy company. He died in 2001 and I now live with my youngest daughter in Worthi...Expand for more
ngton. She had her house remodeled to provide a suite for me. I'm enjoying a comfortable retirement and have relatively good health for 89. Macular degeneration in one eye keeps me from driving but my kids and grandkids provide transportation when I need it. I was out to see the St. Mary's statue at ODU recently and thought it a very nice remembrance. Thanks to all those who worked to make it happen.
