I was born in Michigan. My family moved to Fraser when I was in the second grade. We had to move from Hazel Park because they were building I-75. I went to Salk Elementary. We lived in the subdivision beside the school. I am not sure if anyone remembers Simon Drive. It was the first street that was built. I lived on that street until 1972. We had a swimming pool in the backyard as did alot of people back then. On a hot July evening my Dad came home from work. He decided to take a swim it was dark. My parents never let anyone swim unless someone was out there watching. Dad had dove twice and on the third time he hit his neck on the bottom. Dad had broken his neck. I remember the police, rescue squad and fire department came. At 10:00 at night when sirens and red lights come down your street everybody knows something is wrong. I left Richards Jr. High in the 9th grade. I never forgot the people I grew up with. I even sent away for the 1976 Rambler. I still have it. My parents were from Virginia. So, they decided to move back here.I graduated in 1976 from Haysi High school. I made a lot of wonderful friends who I still have this day. I met my husband Karl, when I was working at the hospital. I fell in love with his brown eyes right way. We became friends at first. This is a great way to find out if you would be right for each other. We have been married for 30 years.
