Sidney's Story
Life
To make a long story short, after graduation from LHS, I did the 3-major/5 and 1/2 year plan at UL. During my time at Univ. of Louisiana, I also did the summer french immmersion program at Universite de Sainte Anne. After working for half a year after graduating from UL(in December 2004), I was in Chicago in Catholic seminary. I was there for one semester. As I write this in the summer of 2007, I'll be headed back to seminary in August 2007 for the Diocese of Lafayette. I'm currently working at the family business, Awardmaster. Peace and God Bless!
School
There were too many cute girls at LHS, I didn't really have one particular crush that I can remember. As far as teachers that inspired me the most, I'd have to say all of them for having patience with me, but specifically Scotty Walker, the band director. I only lasted one year in marching band before I wussed out, but I learned so much, and he really showed us that if we pushed ourselves, we could really work hard and achieve something great. As far as whether or not I'd do it over again, only if I could do so with the knowledge I have ...Expand for more
now. Otherwise, I'd keep it just like it happened.
My fondest college memories come at both Universite de Sainte Anne and at my alma mater, University of Louisiana (GEAUX RAGIN CAJUNS!!). U de St.Anne was awesome because I was able to connect with my French language and Cajun/Acadian heritage, something that I'm very passionate about and is deeply a part of me. I made lots of awesome friends, and had many good times at St. Anne's. As us Cajuns say, I definitely acted the couillion and passed a good time! St.Anne's holds a very special place in my life and in my heart.
I can't even begin to explain how much I loved my time at UL. My parents went to UL and graduated from there back in the 70's, and then became active supporters and season ticket holders for both football and basketball. So, even from the first day in the womb, I was going to UL games and became a Ragin Cajun. As a college student, it was the only reality and a natural continuation of something I was passionate about already when I decided to go there. I love UL as much as anyone possibly can love their alma mater.
God Bless!
