Simona's Story
Life
Since our reunion last August I have been busy with my Catering business and trying to keep up with my kids. My oldest, Cassandra just had 9th grade promotion and will be going into High School. Boy do I feel old, now. My second daughter, Esmeralda loves being in the kitchen, I call her little Martha as in Martha Stewart. As for my son, well he just keeps all of my girls on pins and needles by making them mad. Let's now forget, Rosanna my youngest. She will be going into 4th grade. As for for me, I have tried to not do too much volunteering, which can be a problem for me. I love to cook, as you can tell by my photos, but this year I will be doing the 3day Seattle walk for Susan G. Komen with a wonderful friend whom has cancer. My father, was recently diagnosed with Kidney Cancer, so It really touched home for me. Luckly, surgery has saved his life and is on the road to full recovery. I will be celebrating my 16th wedding anniversary this coming September and am very happy with the direction my life has taken me. I have been blessed to live in a community where everyone knows you, and looks out for you and because its an Island, we don't have all the ups and downs of life in a big city. Our 20 minute...Expand for more
ferry ride to Tacoma, keeps us close enough to go just about anywhere, yet we are secluded enough on the Island that life is so pleasant, we don't always want to leave.
School
Although, I did not get my BA from WSU, I have to say, that I was very blessed to have had the opportunity to go to college and choose to get married, but have no regrets about it. While in school and in college I was very blessed to always have Veda, my busdriver since, 6th grade, always supportive and we kept in touch all these years, until her passing last year. She was always, telling me, I could do whatever, I wanted. Veda was right, I miss her terribly and will always be greatfull for her believing in me. To this day, I truly believe it was because of her, I am where I am in my life. I am content with how my life has turned out. She will always be by my side.
College
Went one year to Business College in Spokane, then one year to Community College and two years at WSU. Got my degree in motherhood and have never looked back.
Workplace
Have been a bookkeeper for over 15 years and started my own catering business in 2004. I also, work seasonal for a Christmas Wreath Company in Tacoma, Washington as a Payroll Bookkeeper.
