Socorro's Story
Life
I'm married and now have 3 beautiful daughters: Jasmin Kaleana (4yrs), Yesenia (3yrs) and my newest addition Vanessa Ruby (1 month old). They are my 3 little angels. I currently live in Romeoville.
School
I attended John Spry School from kinder to first half of 3rd grade, then transferred to Ambrose Plamondon School to attend second half of 3rd grade - 8th grade where I graduated in 1989. The teacher that inspired me most was Mr. Perez (Math teacher) because he always believed in me and told me I had a bright future ahead of me. Then I attended Bogan H.S. and graduated in 1993.
College
I went on to college at UIC and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor...Expand for more
of Science in Electrical Engineering.
My college years at UIC were the greatest. I met many great friends thru SHPE-UIC (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers) who shared a common goal - to succeed in life. We had a lot of fun moments, many sleepless nights studying, but we learned that together we could make it.
Workplace
I have been working as an Engineer for Wireless Networks at Alcatel-Lucent in Lisle/Naperville (formerly known as Lucent Technologies) for 10 years. I've travelled to many different parts of the world as part of my job. Places I've been to are: Australia, New Zealand, Romania, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.
