Sonja's Story
Life
I am happily married to Derrick Childs, who is AGR (full-time) in the ND National Guard. My beautiful daughter, Tara is 11. She is in 6th grade (Go class of 2017!) We live in the village of Cando, North Dakota where it is often very hot in the summer (90+) and very cold in the winter (-30 or lower is practically a given for at least a day or two- and that's not considering wind chill). We live in a large rambler and also own the cottage next door, which we use as our guest house. We have recently purchased two rental houses. We have two cats, Candy and Butterscotch. ent of the Cando Area Food Pantry. In the summer, sometimes I buy and sell antiques and collectibles. I love the arts. I am captivated by design and music and dance. I just wrote and directed my first play a couple of years ago. I am a good cook. We enjoy really good food and wine. I love to travel. I spent a month in Europe this spring. I was in Norway, Germany, The Netherlands, France and Italy. In the past few years I have traveled to California (twice), Washington (twice), Indiana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Florida and Puerto Rico. I'm always traveling to Minnesota where I have family.
