Stacey's Story
Life
Hello fellow Wildcat alumni! It is hard to believe that 25 years has passed since my departure from La Center High! Shortly after graduation, I met my husband Shane. We dated for just over a year before being married August 25,1984. We had our daughter Alyssa in December of 86' and our son Colin in October 90'. We built our home in Battle Ground in 92'. Currently, I am working as a medication aide at an assisted living in N.E. Portland and I am finishing my prerequisites for the nursing program. I would like to work as a Hospice nurse upon receiving my RN licence.
Recently we purchased a trailer for camping, (The tent and sleeping on the ground just wasn't working anymore!) and we love to travel over to the coast for relaxing weekends away. I would love to get a bunch of us together for a camping trip if anyone is interested!
School
Ahhhh....those days of carefree existence. What I wouldn't do to go back sometimes (knowing what I know now.) As I reflect back upon my years at La Center High I realize how much those 4 short years helped shape me into the person that I am today. Sharon Bryan and ...Expand for more
Terri Martin were very positive role models for me. I learned so much from those two ladies and they helped to build my self esteem. I am thankful for the deep friendships established of which many continue still today. In a small school where everyone knew each other, we had the benefits of creating and nuturing these special relationships. At class reunions I have noticed that we are continuing to have these bonds, even though our lives have gone in different directions.
Some of the funny times I remember was Randy McCann and Misty Jernegan's discussion of certain cheat notes (unknown to a certain person that the PA system was on for EVERYONE in the school to hear.) Also, I remember the student parking lot was a challange to drive through due to the pot holes.Oh, and wasn't it someone in our class that collected the "For Sale" signs and posted them at the corner of the school?
I am saddened that some of our classmates cannot be found for reunions or if they have been located and contacted they haven't attended any of the events. It is my hope that these people will be able to come to the next reunion!
