Stacy's Story
everything is new for me... I have seen life from a different point of view in the last year and now everything has changed. I did not divorce my husband last year... his son (who I've had since he was a year and a half old and was 10 last year) was diagnosed with clear cell sarcoma. He had a tumor in his pelvic area. I took care of him for six months (hospital visits and stays, doctor visits, everything from giving him his medications to IV infusions at home). We went through chemotherapy and radiation and eventually hospice care together. Jackie Cooper is his name and he is my hero. After all we done, he passed on in May of this year (approximately six months after diagnosis). He was very strong and my children were very strong through all this, they (my children: Shalea, Kayla, and Justin) are amazing people. Jackie will always be in our hearts. He sh...Expand for more
owed us what love truely is and an appreciation like no other.
Since May, Jackie's father has moved on... we are still getting a divorce and it is for the best. I live with my beautiful children and I am thankful for them and their health everyday. Like I said they are amazing children, Shalea is almost 16 and aspires to be a doctor, Kayla is looking at nursing and is almost 13, and Justin is my baby boy (he's not sure what he wants to do yet), he's 11. They are all very intelligent and do very well in school, which is an expectation. As for me, I'm in my last semester of nursing school (I would have been done last semester but life happened and I stayed with Jackie... I would not change that for the world). I'm looking forward to moving forward after I get out of school. My life has been at a standstill for so long... I just can't wait for it to start.
