Stan's Story

Moved to Phoenix after HS to attend ASU. Accepted promotion with UPS, leaving college after 2 years. Moved back to So. Cal for 8 years working in the high speed printing equipment industry as a regional service engineer traveling around the Western US & Canada; then moved back to Phoenix in '86. I love it here. Married in 1986, mother to all 3 of my children. Divorced amicably. Remarried recently in December (2017) a childhood sweetheart Rosemary, having known each other since we were 12. God knows what He's doing. Acquired a 2.5 acre property north of Phoenix, with 2 mini-horses (my wife's) and 2 dogs + 2 barn cats. Never thought this city-slicker would end up in the country! But I love the sense of community here, as we are adjacent to state land, beautiful star-filled skies, and a bonus... about 6-7 degrees cooler than Phoenix! Enjoying the mini-horses and dogs, with a lot of work around the property on an ongoing basis. We also have property in Alaska - 7 acres & I am smitten by Alaska. Have 3 wonderful children; 2 girls-43 & 33; 1 son 35 plus 6 granddaughters: 18, 16 and twins who are 13 and one who is 5 & another just 2; plus a grandson (3 yrs old). Was blessed to be able to experience a 'bucket-list' trip w/all of us in 2023 up on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. Memories for a lifetime. Underwent open heart surgery just prior to Thanksgiving (2016) to fix mitral valve + 2 stents. Have horrible family history, so this was predictable. They had to open me up twice (2nd one was an emergency) and spent 16 days in the hospital recovering. Doing pretty well now. God is good. I'm an avid golfer, used to be a 10 handicap (depending on how much I played), now an 18++ when I do play; and love to travel. Love the outdoors, but I do miss the ocean (the only thing I miss about So. Cal)....everything has its own beauty to be appreciated and the high country here is incredibly beautiful (Sedona, White Mountains, etc.) & have deeply fallen in love with Alaska, absolutely & virtually unspoiled spectacular magnificence. Been through very rough times (who hasn't) and really appreciate life, people & the little things now. This translates me into a transparent, GOOF-BALL/FUN PUN MASTER, self-effacing and self-deprecating as well. Life is too short not to enjoy it!! And yes, my Japanese bloodlines have gotten me to yes... dare I say it, Karaoke! Only occasionally however. And yes, I also really have been into amateur/professional photography in the past (as an art director primarily). I had a partner in a marketing & consulting firm with customers in the resort, golf, casino & affiliated entertainment-hospitality industries for 12 years here in AZ (1996-2008). I was heavily into commodities (for almost 5 years) but did not like the people in the industry overall and got out. Helped start up a new company15 years ago (AQUASOIL SS CORP), with exclusive rights to market-export a unique natural agricultural water-saving soil amendment and proprietary concentrated liquid fertilizers + soil penetrant + patented grass seed as well as crop seeds for Africa, Middle East and Latin America. I have no illusions about how politics work on a global scale nor business for that matter. Money runs it all. Have met with more than a half-dozen world leaders one on one & rudely discovered they will tell you everything you want to hear & not mean a word of it unless you hav...Expand for more
e money and/or gifts to bear. Very sad, disgusting disillusioning & disappointing. Unfortunately, it did not matter which side of the political aisle they were on. Agriculture, especially doing business internationally has a very slow growth curve & coupled w/the corrupt nature of international business, I left. I took on a position as a Senior Analyst with a reputable gold & silver dealer/broker, educating investors/retirees how physical gold & silver have protected and grown wealth throughout history. I have found it to be highly satisfying & fulfilling, learning from experts who have had decades of experience in the financial markets (stocks, bonds, currencies, banking, estate planning, precious metals collecting, financial analysis, etc.), and taking this knowledge to help others. I am looking to 'semi-retire' by year's end (cutting back to 3-days/week). Just recently accepted an offer from an old friend, LOUIS PRICE (former lead singer for the Temptations & Drifters) to represent him as one of his agents. I am honored to do this part time "gig" for him. Go to LouisPriceMusic.com - he is an extraordinary entertainer - Berry Gordy personally requested that Louis perform at his 80th birthday party! YouTube: Louis Price Smokey Robinson & you can see a short video from that party and a more recent one where Louis honors Smokey for his charity work! I have been overwhelmingly blessed (in spite of myself) with MANY dear friends, family, children & grandchildren. If I were to die today, I would be a blessed and happy man. God has indeed been very good to me, in spite of myself. Late July 2012, my sweet mother was hit by a car running a red light, crossing Walnut at Tustin, to catch a bus to the doctor. After 80 days in ICU, several surgeries, brain trauma +++ she made a remarkable recovery given her age, and she lived at home with full time live-in assistance. A miracle. This, on top of getting hit head on by a drunk/high driver doing 60mph back in 1981, spending 70 days in ICU back then, several surgeries with permanent injuries. After surviving all of that, she succumbed to Covid on 12/30/20, sadly alone in the hospital due to the overreaching rules barring anyone from being anywhere near their loved one(s). She's was a tenacious survivor of many physical setbacks and a tremendous example to everyone during her trials. She maintained her sense of humor through it all, harboring no ill will to those who brought on all of this to her. She is and will be sorely missed. I wish for all to know that life is precious, to live and experience every moment as if it was your last, help those in need, forgive those who hurt you and love those who don't deserve it (just as Christ did). There is a such a feeling of indescribable freedom which is attainable through no other means other than this, and you would be surprised the impact it has on others. I only wish that I had learned/discovered this much earlier in my life. One thing is for sure, I will never stop working. Too much left to do. While much of it was not easy, I have some great memories of my school years and look upon ALL of you with fondness. For all those who read this, my hope is that this finds you well with your soul, contentment with what you have been given and with hope for what is to come. Do NOT regret growing older, as far too many are denied the privilege. May God Bless you and your families.
