Kip's Story
After SHS, I went to ASU for a couple of years; I moved to California and lived with my sister Tammy after her husband died, did some TV work; then back to Arizona and moved up to northern Arizona to apprentice with sculptor John Waddell at his fellowship. After moving back down to Scottsdale I began working as assistant stage manager at the Windmill Dinner Theater. This is where I met my future wife, Nancy Evers, who was traveling with a show that came to the theater--"1776." I also had a part in the show. Once the show closed, she moved on with it and we really developed our relationship via long distance. She moved back to New York City and I joined her a few months later. We traveled the dinner theater circuit for a few years, married, had two children. She has always been a voice teacher, vocal coach, performer and musical director all these years; I've been many things. For 13 years I worked in film, television and live show production; had an antiques business for 10 years (and still do, to some degree). For the past 12 years I've worked for Institutional Investor Magazine, moving from admin to Market Rese...Expand for more
arch Coordinator, to the position I now hold, Client Services Director. I work in the conference division and conduct a variety of financial conferences around the world. It involves a lot of travel and a lot of time at the computer. Somewhere in between I try to work on my art; I had a successful show here in New York a few years back and keep trying to develop another one, but the daytime job saps a lot of time and energy. I've also produced a line of handmade, unique Christmas decorations and dolls for Bergdorf Goodman. I have a website that is woefully not updated (search "kipsake").
I'm always interested in reconnecting with the friends and acquaintances from my youth. So don't be timid; if you remember me, and if you liked me, get in touch. I would love to hear from you. I'm liberal and open minded; don't like prejudice. I believe in the magnificence of individual differences and appreciate people for who they are. However, I draw the line at hate and denial of human equality. If you don't believe in equality, gay marriage, tolerance of things fair and just in this world, please don't bother to be in touch.
