Stephanie's Story
Life
I live in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. We moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1984. I married Richard Whitaker from Brighton in 1980 after graduating from the Univeristy of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls with a teaching degree. I have taught at the same school for 25 years. We have 2 boys. Greg is 22 years old and attends Iowa State. He is a super senior and is in no real hurry to get his degree in MIS-managing information syestems. eering and wants to become a doctor. I am now out of school and am going on tour. I play alot of golf. I have around 70 rounds in since February. I enjoy playing golf with my girfrends.
Workplace
I have been teaching elementary students for the last 25 years. I began my teaching career in fifth grade and then was demoted to third grede where I have been for the last 20 years. I recently became Nationally Certified after a long and grueling process. I am glad I went through the process, but it was a long 10 months.
