Steve St. Clair's Story
After finishing at MP in '64, attended college for 2 1/2 years. Could not decide on a major and enlisted in the US Army for three years. Served in Vietnam as a stenographer for two General Officers.. Upon completion of military service, finished my undergraduate degree in Health and Physical Education at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan and moved back to Charlotte. Taught in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for 37 years. Earned a Master's Degree from UNC-Charlotte and a Doctoral Degree from UNC-Greensboro. Presented professional papers at state and national conferences of AAHPERD (American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) and NASSH (North American Society for Sport History). Married had three kids, divorced. Married some five years later and lived in Tega Cay, SC on Lake Wylie for sixteen years. Children have degrees from East Carolina University, BFA in Enviromental Design; UNC-Chapel Hill, English Literature; and UNC-Charlotte, History. Charleston Landing" the Cherry Grove Section. Have a condo on the ocean, "The Oceans", and a house on the marsh (photos included). Days spent triathlon training, nights dancing (Shag) at Ducks and Harolds. Used to compete (CSA/SPA) "Shag" competition - thinking about getting back into it. On Facebook. Officiated High School/Collegiate Baseball for twenty years. Member of Myrtle Beach Masonic Lodge #353, Myrtle Beach, SC, Past Master, York #385 Rock Hill, SC, Certified Lecturer on all Blue Lodge Masonic degrees, 32nd Degree,Knight Commander Court of Honor (KCCH) Scottish-Rite Mason,Valley of Charleston, SC; Degree Master for the 18th Degree and participant in the 4th, 6th 18th, 30th and 32nd Degrees of Scottish-Rite Masonry; member of Hejaz Shrine Temple and Hot Wheels Motor Unit of Hejaz Shrine Temple, Ass't Chief Special Aide to Illustrious Sir Allen Elliott, Potentate, Hejaz Shrine Temple, 2010.
Moved back to Tega Cay, SC in January 2015. Member of Catawba Lodge #56 and riding with the Hot Wheels, Hejaz Shrine Temple once again.
