Steven's Story
I attended Desert View grade school (located in Sunnyslope area and attended Sunnyslope High School from 1969 through 1971 (should have graduated in 1972). I was kicked out of high school because I left home at age 15 ~ 16. entered the army at age 17 and married right after boot camp.
I was honorably discharged in 1977 and immediately moved back to the Phoenix area, and then Tucson. I've worked in the motorcycle industry my entire adult life. I started as a mechanic, service manager, and finally the owner of BMW franchise in Fresno California. I then sold the shop and went to work for BMW North America teaching service school. I was assigned to BMW headquarters in Marina del Rey, California and traveled during this time period and only home a weekend here or there. Trying to save my marriage, I moved back to the Phoenix area and that is when I became employed with the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (my current employer). What a mistake that was - we divorced in 1997 (should have kept my job with BMW N.A.)...Expand for more
.
I moved to the Orlando area after the divorce. I love it here. The beach is only 50 minutes away; also, there is always something to do inland. Central Florida has every theme park known to modern man and they make it their business to entertain the tourists with a great nightlife (Disney Downtown, the Board Walk, Universal Studio City Walk, and etc...). If you love dancing, this is the place.
I live next door to a state park called Wekiwa Springs. I have deer, wild turkeys, armadillos, black bears as neighbors. I keep a salt block in the backyard to attract them. Also, there are miles and miles of hiking trails and swimming holes in the Wekiva River. The Wekiva River is one of Florida's Federally designated "Wild and Scenic Rivers," it's home to an incredible variety of wildlife including Alligators, Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Limpkins, Little Blue Herons, Tricolored Herons, Woodpeckers, Swallow-tailed Kites, Florida Black Bears, White-tailed Deer, River Otters, Fox, and numerous subtropical birds.
