Steven's Story
Life
I am married and have 5 kids and 1 granddaughter. Had 2 girls and 2 boys from my first marriage of 10 years and 1 son from this current marriage. I have been happily married to my second wife since April 1997.
Following graduation I drifted around debating what to do and on August 4, 1982 I enlisted into the Delayed Enlistment Program (DEP) for the US Air Force and was shipped off to basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas on May 6, 1983. I began my career...Expand for more
as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician but in 1991 the Air Force decided they could cut manning by combining my career with two other fields (Heating and Controls) and then call it Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVAC/R).
After traveling the globe for 24 years I finally hung up the hat and retired from active duty in 2006. In 2007 I returned to the Department of Air Force as a Civil Service worker doing you guessed it, HVAC/R.
