Steven's Story

My name is Steven Waldie and I was a member of Lamesa High School's class of 1994. I began attending Howard College a month after graduating. I finally received my diploma in Big Spring in 2003. I received an Associate Degree in Science. I previously worked with the West Texas Centers for MHMR sheltered workshop doing janitorial and maintenance work, and most recently I have been employed part time by Bealls as a seasonal sales associate and greeter. My grandmother Freda Klug died in May 1997 and my grandfather John Klug passed away the following October. On February 20, 2007, I lost my mother and best friend Sharon Waldie. She was 59 years old and briefly battled Parkinson's disease. For Christmas that same year a friend of mine who was close to Mom gave me dog as a present. It was a female, black and brown miniature pinscher that I named Sharon after my late mother. She was a baby when I got her and now she's gotten big. ...Expand for more
I still live in Lamesa, of course. I've never been married or had children, but Sharon keeps me company when I'm at home. I always wanted to be a doctor when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. In my free time I enjoy listening to music, watching sports on TV, and spending time with my dog. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have clothes, shoes, and be able to deal with the day-to-day. My heroes would definitely have to be my mother and grandparents. My parents divorced and my father wasn't around anymore. They have all passed on, but they still hold a special place in my heart. I am a HUGE fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and I also cheer on my Golden Tors and the Texas Tech Red Raiders during football season. Feel free to add me as a friend on Facebook and please note that this is a new account I started in March 2022 and I no longer have access to my old one.

Extra! Extra! Read all about it!!!!! Sharon (or some other dog who bears a striking resemblance) was spotted in the magazine section of the Sunday paper. (SPOILER ALERT: that is obviously not our house in the photo, though
