Sue's Story
Life
We lived in the same house on the Milligan Highway and the corner of Miller Avenue from 1965. My dad worked for TVA and was away from home a lot until he retired. He loved having a huge garden. My mom was a housewife up until 1979 when she went to nursing school.
I attended Happy Valley from 2nd grade, 1972 until quitting in 1981. I went to nursing school in Elizabethton and worked for 15 years in Murfreesboro as a nurse, then moved to the United Kingdom (Scotland) in 2001. I currently live in Scotland and work for the Local Council in Health and Social Care.
My Dad passed away in 1983 and my Mom passed away in 2007. My first child passed away in 1991 when she was 9. I have one son who is 34. I have one granddaughter who was born in September 2022.

gsport. My younger sister, Abbe lives in Manchester, TN. My cousins (Sandy, Wes & Lee) still live in Milligan. The last time I visited was in 2017.
I have been with my husband Paul since 2007. He has a daughter from a previous relationship who I am happy to play wicked step=mother to. We also have 3 rescue cats.
School
I left school in 1981 to have my little girl. I didn't graduate but obtained my GED the same year (1983). I graduated nursing school from Elizabethton Vo-Tech in 1986.
College
Elizabethton Vo-Tech to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. I worked as a nurse for 15 years before moving to the UK. I now have my SVQ Level 4 and RMA. I recently completed a post graduate course in Quality Management.
Workplace
I currently work for the local health and social care partnership.
