Sue's Story

After 4 years at William Smith and a year doing a post grad teaching certificate at Nottingham University, GB, I spent almost all my working life teaching English Lit and Lang to 11 - 18 year olds in the UK. Because I felt that if I didn't do something else with my life other than be in classrooms I moved to the Southwest corner of France in 1996 and bred, trained and competed with Border Collies on a 15 acre smallholding. Since having sheep to train with was essential I also kept a flock of 30 ewes and every year and had 60 or so lambs running about the place. hepherds in the Pyrenees who offered me time and a lot of fun helping them in some of the most glorious scenery in the world. Of course real life catches up with you and my pension pot was looking rather meagre so I returned to GB for 5 years after which I REALLY retired and came back to this part of France. However looking after sheep and training dogs became more tiriing so today I live in an old cottage just outside a spa town and plan to open a Bed and Breakfast at the end of this year. I would love to thank Mrs. Alberta Rogers for her French lessons...I couldn't have done so much of that without her!
