Sue's Story

Life Married in 1995, no kids, our dogs are our babies (we have 2 beagles (adopted from the beagle rescue group I volunteer with called B.R.E.W., and we typically have a foster beagle for a total of 3 normally). Bought a house in the suburbs in 1997, we both work full-time and have an active social life. I am very involved with animal organizations and charities. Helped pull together the 2002 Combined Class Reunion and had a lot of fun. There is another combined reunion planned for Oct 6th, 2007! Class of 82 is planning it. Keep in touch! School Hebron was a great school! We moved in 1976 to Hebron (I was in 6th grade). I didn't know what to expect coming from Cary IL....so I dressed up for the first day at school. I've always been tall...but I'll never forget how shy everyone was with me initially. I found out later that they thought I was a teacher's aid or something-until after I got introduced finally! I loved hanging out with the class of 82....and Nancy Pohlman was my best friend (even though she was in my sister Sandy's class). She introduced me to Scott...and got me to go to Prom with him my Freshman year. The rest is history....I hung with all of Scott's friends and Nancy's friends outside of school from there on. When I was a junior, I became friends with Missy Russell (who was dating Phil Milam)...and we became inseparable. We had a lot of fun lunches with Tammy Valentine, Theresa Monheim, Julie Meyer and Tracy Hutchinson! High School went so fast...and it seems like yesterday and million years ago all at once. I wouldn't trade where I went to high school for anything. College I never wanted to go anywhere other than U of I (the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) because tha...Expand for more
t is where Scott went....and I had met a lot of people thru Scott already as he had been down there for 2 years by the time I graduated high school. Brent VanHoozen...if you read this, you have to contact me! Anyway...I was engaged and living in an apartment with Scott my freshman year at U of I. That didn't work out and I was the next 2 years at Bromley. Lucy Kim, my first roommate was great (and introduced me to a bunch of people and I felt right at home right away)! I have lost contact with some people (Karen, Janet, Mary, Jennifer, some former suitemates and roommates--if you read this, please contact me!). I am still in touch with Lisa Wu (Lee now) and have visited her and her family! My hubbie and I have been to San Francisco and have visited with Lucy already. I really enjoyed college, but was glad to hit the real world and start working also. Workplace Work....need the paycheck...but don't necessary love what I am doing anymore. I can tell I am getting older...work just isn't as important to me anymore. I am currently looking for a new job....still at Wallace Computer Services (been there forever it seems, since Aug 1994). In Jan 2003, the company was "merged" with a huge competitor, Moore Business Forms (based out of Canada) and then in October of 2003, the combined company Moore Wallace was bought by RR Donnelley. You can imagine how fun work has been when you go thru two mergers within 10 months! 2007 update: and the fun continues with RR Donnelley sending our Help Desk to (Accenture) in India...and offshore developers in Manila...soon they want me to help get an offshore QA team together (fun...let's see how much longer I have this job once they find others they can pay like $5 hour!). sigh
