Sue's Story

Well, this Coast Guard brat went to nursing school, then married Kurt, divorced 13 yr. later. Now friends with him, and his wife, see each other at family gatherings. I live in the desert just North of Phoenix, AZ (for 35 years). Love my mountains in the desert, and our sunsets. Oh, yes, and the saguaro cactus. Although I do like big trees, grass, and fresh water. (Love oceans, but the salt mist destroys things). Worked as an RN off full time, except for a 5 & 3 yr period to be a mom. Attended college classes until the divorce, then had to work full time to support my wonderful children, Mikel, now 44, and Michelle, 42. Michelle has a son and daughter. Mikel just married 3/7/09 for the 1st time. Sarah (who I adore) has a daughter and a son, about same ages as Michelle's kids. '07 retired, bought an RV, left end of April for a month and was gone 6 1/2 months. ...Expand for more
Went s-l-o-o-o-o-w-l-y up the West Coast, with a side trip to Mont. to see a friend from HS in Duluth, MN. Then to Seattle, a flight to Alaska, and a cruise back to Seattle, and finally back to Cave Creek. Had to come home for my grandson Ian's b'day. No trips since. May have to go back to work to pay for that one. Will be attending 2, maybe 3 HS reunions this summer/fall, remember, Coast Guard brat, Duluth Central, Mount Vernon, & Groveton. Need to go put my feet on Texas soil again, it has been too long....since my mom, dad, and aunt transitioned. My big interest for the past several years is photography, finally went digital before the big trip. Good thing, or I would have gone broke just buying film, & having it developed. Still like to sew, but don't do much of it anymore. Next goal is to learn all I can about investing so I don't have to go back to work.
