Susan's Story

After college (Denison University) and Grad school (Northeastern Illinois University) I married and gave birth to a son and a daughter. We enjoyed living in Chicago for 10 years. In 1967 my husband died of ALS; Subsequently, I remarried and taught for years in the Chicago Public School system. My new husband, an experienced sailor, and I bought a 40' sailboat and in 1979 we set sail across the Atlantic via Bermuda and the Azores. ears later, we sailed home to America and settled in beautiful Savannah, Georgia, where we sold the boat and bought a 215-year-old historic house in which we still live. I taught consecutively at two local universities for 17 years, then gave myself permission to become the writer I always wanted to be. In addition to newspaper columns, magazine articles, and a play or two, I now have a self-illustrated children's book, a non-fiction book of local history, and five novels available for purchase on Amazon.com. I am blessed with good health, good friends, and a good marriage with a man I love.
