Susan's Story

I'm currently still wondering where to fit in for employment when I grow up. I am a mother of four children, two boys and two girls. I find that this job is the hardest of all. I'm faced with situations I never encountered growing up, and I have faced some of the hardest. I currently am working part-time at the local ski shop, and collecting part-time unemployment. The bills are through the roof, and Mr. Burke is never happy with what I do, how to save money or how much I bring home, its near worth giving up trying to earn any. I have to have a biopsy follow through for abnormal cells and have a hard time talking to anyone about it, so maybe long time friends would give advice, or comfort. Making it to 50 on May 14th seems so fortunate, I never thought I would live to see it. I also thought I'd never get to meet Bob Dylan, so heres hoping I can. I have achieved some pretty wonderful creations of art in my life, but the most special were the children John Burke and I created, with the love of God. Now it's up to the children to help tow the load, and I hope I have prepared them well enough, because it seems the way the environment and world are going, there is a tough storm ahead. It takes work to keep the faith, and like all good things, its the effort that shows the grade. I admired Jeff Osborn's class with Constitutional Studies, he was my favorite teacher...Expand for more
. I had some good memories of high school, and it was a bummer I had a breakdown the few months before graduation, we did enjoy the streaming of water pistol fires into the audience of parents, family and friends. I have my third graduating high school this May, and the youngest in 5th grade, I hope to live to see her graduate at least grade school, and hope to live to see at least one grandchild, two of my siblings are now gradparents. and my mother is a great grandparent. At 50 the world sure does change to see what you admire. My Mom and I are getting along, we talk on the phone ususally once a week, and for years we didn't, feelings of abuse were misfelt, probably just jealousy over what other family traditions were, and our lack of or difference of, but we always had one thing many families didnt, a love for the beach, although sometimes that seemed to be the mother-earth or feeling of Algonquin blood carrying us all through together. So now Im, in Pennsylvania, feeling like I belong to the natives here, were celebrating Mother's Day and mine and my son's birthday at Lake Nockimixon near the Weisel Youth Center. Kind of like out Allaire State Park of Manasquan. Brothers and sisters, true to the one God, adoring Mary the Mother, and knowing many countries have thier own way of praise to her, its always is more bright when you can turn to her, the Lady.
