Susan's Story
Life
I am an English teacher. I am precise with words. This is NOT a bio unless you, Dear Reader, would like to write it about me. This is an AUTObio. And I'm so boring that not even I want to write it about me. How about a time line?
1967-1971: West Chester State College cum West Chester University. 2.99 GPA, but I stood when they told all those graduating with honors to stand. I could have done better, but, hey, there was beer.
1971: Began teaching 8th grade in West Chester, PA.
1973: Married a guy with long hair and a motorcycle. He sold the bike and lost his hair. I still have the husband.
1978: Began belly dancing.
1979: Hatched my only child, Josh. He lives and works (photo software developer) in San Diego. Gave up belly dancing, just in case.
1982: Learned to quilt. Began martial arts classes.
1984: Earned black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Just in case. (See 1979)
1985: Enrolled in interior design courses at Philadelphia College of Textile and Design. Discovered untapped artist...Expand for more
ic ability and maintained a 4.0 GPA until dropping out in 1990.
1990: Retired from teaching when husband joined the Foreign Service. Moved to Panama City, Panama. Traveled a little: loved Mexico City
1993: Transferred to Tel Aviv, Israel. Traveled more. Nile cruise was the best.
1997: Transferred to Stockholm, Sweden. Traveled a little more. Europe, Baltics, Russia.
2000: Transferred to Taipei, Taiwan. Hardly ever stayed home. Southeast Asia ROCKS!
2003: Returned home to DC Burbs. Took job teaching 8th grade in Warrenton, VA.
2006: Bought my own motorcycle.
2007: Quilter, biker, quilting biker.
2009: Assigned final tour in Vilnius, Lithuania, until 2012. Will not work full time, but will take art supplies, quilting supplies and work on finding my artistic voice. As opposed to my normal bellow.
I'm quitting Classmates but am on Facebook. "Friend" me if you can find me. If I know you, like you, and think it's appropriate to be your friend (those under age need not try), I'll accept.
