I attended one quarter at the U before getting married and moving to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1966. Wow, that was a loooonnnnng time ago doncha think--LOL. We lived in Philly for 3 years and then moved across the Delaware River to a small suburban town named Maple Shade, New Jersey. Lived in South Jersey until 1985 and then move back to Utah. I have 3 biological kids that were all born in Philly. In 1974 I started Nursing School at Gloucester County College and received my Nursing Degree and then took boards and became a Registered Nurse. I worked as a Labor and Delivery Room Nurse and also taught Childbirth Preparation to expectant parents (this was at the early days of allowing dads in the delivery room and education for what to expect during labor and delivery and how to deal with contractions and other helpful stuff). As a result of the physical stress and sometimes extreme demands of lifting and helping patients I ended up with a back injury requiring surgery which put me out of work for a year and then changed the type of nursing my orthopedic surgeon prescribed--no lifting of patients anymore and other things that meant I would need to find another specialty in nursing.
