Susan's Story
Life
I grew up all over the south east, mainly - I went to 3 different highschools and 6 Elementary Schools. I have lived in Marietta, GA since 1987, where I met and married my husband of 19 years. My oldest daughter is due with her first child in October 2007. My youngest is still dancing with the Atlanta Ballet as a pre-professional dancer. My heart is at home, being a mother is something I adore! However, I also enjoy my job at The Salvation Army as the Executive Assistant to the College President and Principal. 18, then I went to training to become an officer, was disillusioned, left seminary and fell in love with my husband. I had my first child when I was 22 and started a very successful child care business, which I ran for 11 years. My husband joined me in the business and I hired a couple of workers and began homeschooling my children, which I did for 6 years. With the tumbling stock market in 2000, finances got pretty tight. I needed to go back to work full time, so after 14 years working out of the home, I went back to work for The Salvation Army as the Executive Assistant to the College President and Training Principal. I have been here 3 years. It's a great place to be, but my heart will always be in my home. I adore being a mom and wife.
